Description
Learn the art of baking delicious sourdough bread in this hands-on workshop. Baking bread is both science and craft and you'll learn the secrets to creating warm, crusty loaves that will impress your friends and family. This workshop will cover creating and nurturing a sourdough starter, tools, ingredients, prep, baking and troubleshooting. During the workshop, we will bake and eat a loaf that's been prepared the previous day, while starting your own dough to take and bake at home the following day. Your class fee includes a glass jar with our well developed starter, a banneton (proofing basket) to use and keep, plus written instructions and recipes.
Please bring the following supplies to class: 1) a large mixing bowl 2) a kitchen towel 3) an apron (optional). We will have spatulas, scales, measuring cups, etc. for class use. Ages 12+ with adult. Pre-registration required.

2 – 4 days before class starts = Free transfer to other dates for the specific class or refund of 50% of total fees.
Less than 48 hours notice = Transfer to other dates for the specific class with 25% rescheduling fee. No refunds offered.
No notice/No show = no transfer or refund
To be eligible for refund or class transfer, you must contact Dream Maker via email, messenger, or text message BEFORE the class. If we are
busy setting up for the class, we’ll at least have the timestamp on your message to go by. Do not call.
In all cases, you may send another person in your place. A heads up to us is appreciated but not required. Additionally, if we are able to fill your spot from the waiting list, you will receive a full refund or transfer with no additional cost. The sooner you contact us about your cancellation, the more likely we’ll be able to fill your spot.
Class Transfers
We do not guarantee that a class will be offered again or that it has sufficient space. Class transfers are a one-time option and must be used within 6 months. If it is 14 days or more until your class, you may transfer to any workshop type and you’ll pay the difference, or we’ll refund you the difference in cost. If it is 13 days or less, transfers are only offered to the same workshop. This is because we’ve likely already incurred the cost of supplies.
Class Minimums
Classes that fail to meet minimum enrollment may be cancelled and refunded. Unless otherwise stated, this minimum is 4 paid attendees for classes held at Dream Maker and 6 for classes held at other venues. We generally hold ticketing open until 48-72 hours before a scheduled event, then make a determination as to whether to continue. Do not wait until the last minute to enroll because you’re afraid a class will be cancelled. When everyone does that, it ensures that a class will be cancelled. You will be notified by email 24-48 hours before a class is scheduled if we are unable to meet enrollment.
Cancellation by Dream Maker
If we cancel a class due to instructor illness, power outage, weather/disaster, etc, we will first attempt to reschedule the class and transfer to the new date. If you’re not available for the rescheduled date, you will be refunded.
Other Terms & Conditions
Photography and Video
The best marketing is pics of your smiling faces making something great in our classes. Our post class social media posts are a cost effective way to promote our classes and keep prices low. And community members love seeing what people are up to. Unless you specifically notify us, your attendance in a workshop grants us permission to post pics or video clips online. You will never be tagged or named and we never use any material that would embarrass you.
Minors
Unless otherwise stated, teens age 12+ may attend workshops primarily intended for adults. However, the teen must attend with an adult who is responsible for their supervision. The ages may vary based on the requirements for specific venues, liquor license rules, or the complexity/safety of a given craft. We sometimes offer kid or teen only classes which are drop-off. In this case, caregivers will need to complete an emergency contact form and waiver for their children.
Waiver of Liability
In the course of crafting and making art, you may be exposed to minor hazards such as sharp objects, certain chemicals, etc. We will show you the safe use of such materials, but are not liable for accidental mishaps, allergic reactions, or other injuries that may occur during our classes. You agree to accept these risks when you attend a Dream Maker event.
Pet Policy
Dream Maker Creative does not allow pets at any of our workshops whether our own studio or in other venues. Trained service animals are allowed per ADA guidelines. Emotional support pets or those who you bring with you because they can’t be left alone are not allowed. Pets in the classroom are unsafe as we are
often moving around in tight spaces, working with sharp objects or chemicals, and can cause issues if other animals are in attendance.
