DIY Chunky Knit Blanket Workshop
** Online registration is closed. I do have room in the class, but may not be able to accommodate all color choices since I'm now limited to what I can find locally. The more flexible you are with colors, the more likely I can get you in. Please email me at ilovecrafts@dreammakercreative.com and let me know your color preferences.
Have fun learning to make your own chunky knit blanket! This DIY workshop teaches you the art of creating a cozy, soft and plush blanket with your own hands. Create something special that'll make your home even more inviting, with yarn that's perfect for cuddling up in. These can be whipped up in one evening so are a perfect handmade gift. We are using a super plush polyester yarn, that it machine washable and dryable on gentle.
This workshop is for ages 12+, but under 16's must attend with an adult. No observers - all participants must have a pre-paid ticket due to space constraints.
Please choose your 1st and 2nd color choices (or you may mix colors and do rows of each). We will do our best to meet your requests, but cannot control future availability from our supplier. It's best to register early, so that we can get your yarn ordered.
Base price includes enough yarn to make a 40" x 50" lap blanket which most will be able to complete in class. You may add on additional skeins at $10 each to expand the size at home.
Refund Policy & Terms
Cancellation and Refunds
Classes and workshops are fully refundable up to 14 days before a class.
For cancellations 7 - 14 days before an event, we will issue a gift card rather than a refund which can be used towards a future class or merchandise.
For cancellations less than 7 days, no gift card credit is offered as we’ve often already spent the money on supplies based on your presumed attendance. You have the option of transferring your ticket to a friend or family member. Please just let us know to expect someone else in your place. In some cases we may be able to transfer you to another session though we don’t guarantee that the class you signed up for will be available again.
In all cases, if we can fill your spot from a wait list, we will issue you a refund. Not all classes have wait lists. The more notice you give, the better your options are that we can fill your spot.
If you no-show for a class you forfeit all options for transfers, credit, or refunds. We have procured supplies, and prepped with the expectation that you’d be there.
Class Minimums
Classes that fail to meet minimum enrollment may be cancelled and refunded. Unless otherwise stated, this minimum is 4 paid attendees. We generally hold ticketing open until 72 hours before a scheduled event, then make a determination as to whether to continue. Do not wait until the last minute to enroll because you’re afraid a class will be cancelled. When everyone does that, it ensures that a class will be cancelled. You will be notified by email 48-72 hours before a class is scheduled if we are unable to meet enrollment.
Cancellation by Dream Maker
If we cancel a class due to instructor illness, power outage, weather/disaster, etc, we will first attempt to reschedule the class and transfer to the new date. If you’re not available for the rescheduled date, you will be refunded.
Photography and Video
The best marketing is pics of your smiling faces making something great in our classes. Our post class social media posts are a cost effective way to promote our classes and keep costs low. And community members love seeing what people are up to. Unless you specifically notify us, your attendance in a workshop grants us permission to post pics or video clips online. You will never be tagged or named and we never use any material that would embarrass you.
Minors
Unless otherwise stated, teens age 12+ may attend workshops primarily intended for adults. However, the teen must attend with an adult who is responsible for their supervision. The ages may vary based on the requirements for specific venues, liquor license rules, or the complexity/safety of a given craft. We sometimes offer kid or teen only classes which are drop-off. In this case, caregivers will need to complete an emergency contact form and waiver for their children.
Waiver of Liability
In the course of crafting and making art, you may be exposed to minor hazards such as sharp objects, certain chemicals, etc. We will show you the safe use of such materials, but are not liable for accidental mishaps, allergic reactions, or other injuries that may occur during our classes. You agree to accept these risks when you attend a Dream Maker event.
Pet Policy
Dream Maker Creative does not allow pets at any of our workshops whether our own studio or in other venues. Trained service animals are allowed per ADA guidelines. Emotional support pets or those who you bring with you because they can’t be left alone are not allowed. Pets in the classroom are unsafe as we are often moving around in tight spaces, working with sharp objects or chemicals, and can cause issues if other animals are in attendance.
