Engineering & Invention - Session 2 (Going Green)

In this 6-class series, youngsters will be introduced to the engineering and design process to tackle a unique challenge each week, with each class building on the skills learned in the previous one. Kids will develop problem solving, collaboration skills, while building confidence in their creativity and analytical abilities. All while having fun! This session will focus on environmental sustainability and will include different projects than session 1. Example challenges include:

  • Design an airplane that saves fuel
  • Design a machine that can use wind energy to accomplish a task
  • Design sneakers that do not harm the environment

Class Meets Tuesdays, Oct 22nd - Dec 3rd (6 weeks) at Dream Maker Creative in Felton from 3:30-5:30. No class Nov 26.

This class is for ages 9-12 (roughly 4th-6th grade) and is suitable for after-school enrichment or as a home-school class. We are using curriculum developed by PBS Learning Media and a list of ISTE curriculum standards met through this program are available upon request. Pickup is between 5 to 5:30. At 5pm instruction and design projects will be put away, and kids can play with Legos, puzzles and games, draw, or do homework while awaiting pickup.

Save $25 on this 6-week class if you register by Aug. 23rd. After that price increases to $175. A minimum enrollment of 6 participants is needed one week before each session, or session may be cancelled and refunded. So don't wait to register, and share with other families!
